How church voluntary aided and free school places are decided

Schools not run by the council use their own rules to decide which children get offered places first

Who gets priority

Church voluntary aided and free schools use their own rules, called admissions priorities, to decide which children are offered a school place first.

When applying for a place at a religious or faith school, children who have the same faith or religion usually get priority over other children who apply.
