About Shared Lives

Shared Lives is for adults and young people that need support to live independently. People are matched with a paid carer who provides care and support in their own home.

Some people live with their shared lives carer. Others spend short periods of time with them, or combine daytime and overnight visits.

How to apply

You'll need to have an assessment, and if we can help you we’ll match you to a carer. You don’t have to commit to anything until you’ve had the chance to get to know each other.

To request an assessment, send an email to accesspoint@brighton-hove.gov.uk or phone 01273 29 55 55. If you’ve had an assessment, speak to the worker helping to write your support plan.
