Year 7 allocation
Preferences for the Community Secondary Schools in Brighton & Hove were allocated as set out in the tables on the following pages.
The table also shows preferences for Cardinal Newman Catholic School, Portslade Aldridge Community Academy, Brighton Aldridge Community Academy and King’s School.
The Governors of Cardinal Newman Catholic School were able to offer places to all children in priorities 1-10 and some pupils in priority 11 of their admission criteria. If children falling within priorities 1-10 have not been offered a place at Cardinal Newman it is because they have been offered a higher preference.
King’s School was oversubscribed and allocated places according to their published priorities. Please refer to pages 26-30 of the School Admissions booklet for Cardinal Newman Catholic School’s admission priorities and King's School’s admissions priorities. Please refer to pages 17-21 of the School Admissions booklet for the Council’s admission priorities for Community Schools and the Aldridge Community Academies.
If a child lives within Brighton & Hove and was not offered a place at one of their preferred schools a place would have been offered at the nearest school with places available.
