Allotment tenancy agreements and how to pay

When you'll get your tenancy agreement, how we invoice and how to pay.

Tenancy agreements

When you reach the top of a waiting list, we'll contact you to let you know that you can view a plot. If you want to take on the plot, you'll need to sign a new tenancy agreement with the site representative.

We aim to send out welcome packs to new tenants within a month. If you don’t receive it within six weeks, send an email to allotments@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

How to pay your allotment fees

The allotment rent year runs from 1 October to 30 September the following year. Invoices are sent out in early October, and you can set up a direct debit or pay your allotment fees online.

If you take on an allotment after the 1 October, you will be invoiced from that date to the 30 September.

If you don't receive your invoice by the end of the year, send an email to allotments@brighton-hove.gov.uk, and give your name, the site name, your plot number and most recent postal address.

It’s your responsibility to make sure we have the correct contact details for you, and that your fees are paid on time. If you don’t pay your fees within one month of receiving your invoice, we can end your tenancy.
