How rates are set

Deductions are made for non-dependants over the age of 18.

If the non-dependant is working fewer than 16 hours per week, the lowest deduction will apply.

If the non-dependant is working 16 hours per week or more, the deduction will depend on their income as shown in the tables below.

Your Council Tax Reduction won't change for non-dependants who receive Income Support, Income Related Employment Support Allowance, Income Based Jobseekers Allowance or Pension Credit.
