COVID-19 Service update: Wednesday 25 March

We are not taking any ceremony bookings or Notices of Marriage or Civil Partnership during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Service updates

We welcome anyone with a ceremony affected by COVID-19 to rebook with us at a later date. The usual re-booking fee will be waived.

We understand that for some couples a refund would be preferable in these uncertain times. Please contact us if this is the case and we will return your fees, again without charging the usual admin fee. We hope to welcome you back in the future.

  • Ceremonies taking place in the 3 weeks following 23 March have been suspended. Couples immediately affected will have been contacted directly.
  • Once restrictions are lifted, if your ceremony is affected by Covid-19 we will reschedule your ceremony free of charge to a similar booking up to 12 months from the original date.
  • We are not able to take any new ceremony bookings or reschedule ceremonies until restrictions have been lifted.
  • If you have been contacted by a venue notifying you that they need to postpone your ceremony please email ceremonies@brighton-hove.gov.uk to notify us with the details of your postponed ceremony.
  • Following a government directive we are not currently able to take notices of marriage or civil partnership. If you have an appointment booked with us we will suspend it until you are able to rebook.
