EYC training - food safety and hygiene level 2
An elearning course about food safety and hygiene in early years settings.
This is an elearning course, which can be started at anytime.
On completion of this course, learners should understand:
- Why food hygiene and safety is important
- Their personal and legal responsibilities
- The impact of food borne illness
- How food becomes contaminated
- How to prevent contamination through good hygiene practices
- How to control contamination through safe temperatures and storage
Approximately 2-3 hours to complete (depending on learning speed). As an e-learning module the learner can complete this training in convenient stages and revisit whenever they wish. The system will record their progress throughout.
The learner will receive a Qualifi Accredited Certificate when they have successfully completed the course.
What level / who should do this training?
Specialist – for childcare practitioners who need training in the fundamental skills of food safety. Please note that only 3 practitioners per setting can apply for this course.
Cost and application
This e-learning course is available at a cost of £10, which is paid to Brighton & Hove City Council with a credit or debit card, using the online application form and secure payment system.
Once your application and payment has been received, you will be contacted with log-in details. Each learner can then access the e-learning course at their own pace and at times to suit them.
Please note that this e-learning is only open to staff working in Ofsted registered childcare settings in Brighton & Hove.
