Ask for a repair to your council home
Ask us to repair your council home if it's been damaged.
We're working hard to catch-up, but there are still delays to routine repairs. If you have an emergency repair, we will book an appointment to attend. For routine repairs, we will raise an order and our trade team will contact you when they can schedule the work. We apologise for any inconvenience.

If you need help registering contact HOLSupport@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
Before you request a repair
Make sure who's responsible as there are some repairs you'll need to carry out yourself.
If your council home needs an emergency repair, phone 0800 052 6140.
If the repair is for a suspected gas leak, phone the National Grid on 0800 111 999.
Read our information on condensation in your home if you have problems with moisture, damp or mould.
How long a repair takes
When you ask us for a repair, the time it takes for us to start the work depends on the type of repair.
We'll decide if your repair is:
- emergency, which we'll start within 24 hours
- routine, which we'll schedule according to priority need
You can read more about types of repairs in our housing repairs handbook.
Outstanding repairs
We're working hard to reduce the number of outstanding jobs. To speed up this process we've hired contractors to help us.
We're working with United Living and Axis Europe. They are helping us recover a large number of older jobs to ensure that essential repairs are carried out in our tenant’s homes.
To complete these jobs, one of the contractors will contact you directly to arrange an appointment.
There are still a large number of tasks for the contractors to complete so it may be some time before you are contacted.
If the repair has already been completed or becomes more urgent, contact our Repairs Helpdesk on 0800 052 6140 who can either cancel or prioritise your repair.
Go to the Housing Online website to check the status of your repair.
