Housing stock condition survey
We’re carrying out a stock condition survey of our housing to help us plan for future repair and improvement work to your homes.
We will be looking at a selection of council-owned homes and communal areas in council-owned housing blocks as part of a stock condition survey.
The survey is taking place between November 2019 and February 2020. It is being carried out by our contractor Michael Dyson Associates.
If we need to carry out a stock condition survey on your home, Michael Dyson Associates will write to you to make an appointment.
A stock condition survey is a visual inspection of the inside and outside of your home. The inspections should take around 20 minutes and will look at the:
- exterior, including roofs, walls, windows, doors, fences and paths
- interior, such as your kitchens and bathrooms
- common and external parts of blocks of flats, such as corridors, lifts, fire alarms, communal lighting, door entry systems and pathways
Purpose of the survey
The survey is being done to collect information relating to the government's Decent Homes Standard and the condition of your home in general.
The information we gather will be used to help us plan for the work needed in the future, such as replacement kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors.
If any safety-related repairs are identified during the survey, these will be forwarded to our repairs service.
