We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and committed leader who is passionate about providing the best service possible for children and young people with SEND and their families.

The Brighton and Hove Inclusion Support Service (BHISS) is a unique and highly regarded team comprised of a wide range of specialists that includes Educational Psychologists, Mental Health Workers, Specialist Teachers & Practitioners. The service is committed to working together with parents/carers, education settings (early years, schools and colleges) and partner agencies to help all children and young people with SEND to thrive. BHISS is incredibly successful, amongst other achievements the service has managed to broker a popular ‘traded offer’ with local schools and deliver a jointly commissioned Schools Wellbeing Service that has led on the NHS England Mental Health Trailblazer initiative. The team actively engages in multi-agency work, interdisciplinary work, project work and collaborative action research, with many opportunities for team members to train across specialisms in order to create a more flexible and vibrant workforce.

About the role

The post holder will be a key member of the Health, SEN and Disability Senior Leadership Team and provide strategic leadership and management for the Educational Psychology service and the other specialist teams included within BHISS. Through the delivery of advice, support, guidance and training to children and young people, their families and educational settings the service will continue to maximise levels of educational attainment, educational achievement and personal development; thereby supporting our most vulnerable learners to live their best lives.
