Job introduction

Regulatory services plays a vital role in keeping the residents and visitors to Brighton & Hove safe, as well as supporting local businesses and the economy. Sitting within the wider safer communities team, regulatory services comprise, Environmental Health and licensing, trading standards, emergency planning and resilience, animal wardens, pest control and field officers. Based in our Brighton Office, the successful applicant will be joining a friendly and professional team.

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a regulatory services manager to work within the Safer Communities team. Whilst the role potentially covers all of the work of Environmental Health and Licensing and Trading Standards, we would be  particularly interested in applicants with food safety competence and an understanding of animal welfare work and pest control.

The post holder will be part of the Safer Communities management team and will provide leadership to the teams that they are responsible for, as well as helping to set the direction of the wider safer communities team. The successful applicant will be able to work to tight time scales and have excellent communication skills in a variety of settings.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
