Job introduction

Brighton and Hove city council are currently recruiting for a Street Cleaner Driver to join the Cityclean team.

About the role

The main purpose of the role is to carry out cleansing operations as directed by the manager and chargehands.

To undertake, either individually or as part of a team the provision of a high standard of cleanliness and maintenance in a variety of roles to ensure the Council's obligations under the Environmental Protection Act are met.

To drive/operate Council vehicles/equipment and to undertake duties in connection
with the sweeping, collection and removal of litter, dirt, leaves and refuse from
public spaces and other designated areas in accordance with daily instructions and
the specification of the service.

All new starters will receive a full induction.

Shift: 5:00am – 13:00pm. Both drivers are on rolling rota - Working 6 days on, then 2 days off.

Cityclean is made up of lots of staff working as a large team. We are mainly based at the depot at Hollingdean, although some staff are based at smaller depots around the city.

at the depot, we have a large team of operational staff, a contact centre, an admin team, a project team, mechanics and managers and team leaders.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
