About the role

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join us to support a child 1:1 with complex  medical needs  who will be joining us in Reception.

The post is for 16.25 ( yet to be confirmed)   hours per week, term time only.  The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to work as part of a team.  Experience of working with or caring for Reception/KS1 children within a school / education situation  ( this can be voluntary ) is essential.

 This job will require you to support a child with complex medical needs,  who requires an adult to support physical and sensory needs, including intimate care and administering feeds using feeding equipment.   Collaborative working with external health services and delivery of intervention programmes as advised.

Flexible and collaborative working is essential, as is the ability to deliver specific recommendations from a range of specialist professionals.

Training and advice will be provided from external agencies such as; specialist nursing,  occupational therapy  and Speech and Language therapy  to support in the delivery of a comprehensive care package.   

Full training will be provided but the successful candidates need to be prepared to support with these complex medical needs.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
