About the role
We are looking for two enthusiastic, committed and qualified Individual Needs Assistants. The successful candidates will be expected to offer high quality input and support with one individual in Reception or one in Year 5. Both children have autism and require support with their emotional and behavioural needs. You will need enthusiasm, resilience, patience and experience of working with children with special needs for these roles. The post is fixed term for the academic year 2019-2020.
There are two part-time roles, each for 2 ½ days a week. The two roles could be combined into one full-time position for a suitable candidate.
In addition, the positions each include 3 lunchtimes per week as a Midday Supervisory Assistant. (If the posts are combined, this would be 5.42 hours per week – 5 lunchtimes, 0.12 FTE; for 3 lunchtimes this would be prorata). Both positions are term time only and note that the successful applicants must accept both the INA and MDSA positions.
Applicants should have NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants, equivalent qualifications or experience. Experience of children with special needs is essential.
Brackenbury Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check. We welcome applications from all sections of the community regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation or age.
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
