Job introduction
Mechanical & Electrical Engineer working in the Council's Mechanical & Electrical team in housing, the team is responsible for the technical management of all Mechanical & Electrical activities and service contracts including lifts, gas servicing and maintenance, fire alarms and warden call systems.

About the role
Working in the Council's Housing service as part of the Mechanical and Electrical team you will play a key role in the management and co-ordination of a range of mechanical engineering work in connection with the Planned Maintenance Programme, large capital projects and Mechanical & Electrical services.
You will be responsible for the day to day co-ordination and management of specific term maintenance contracts for mechanical services including (but not exclusively) domestic and communal electrical installations.
In the role you will liaise with and provide expert technical knowledge to the various Delivery Units, within Property & Investment and wider housing service.
As part of the Mechanical & Electrical team you will contribute to relevant policies, procedures, services, and equipment, to ensure compliance with all legislation, prioritising Health & Safety regulations, fire prevention and protection through robust maintenance and monitoring.
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
