Job introduction
Royal Pavilion & Museums is undertaking a major programme of collections documentation and digitisation, addressing targets set by Arts Council England as part of the service’s Accredited status. The post-holder will make a significant contribution to the care and management of this material.
This role is part time.
About the role
We are looking for someone with an enthusiasm for museum collections and a commitment to building their understanding and use. In order to help us develop a programme of documentation and digitisation in particular, the successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with collections, and excellent organisational skills.
To improve public access to the collections of Royal Pavilion & Museums through undertaking collections management activities, in consultation with keepers, curators, project officers and other specialist staff. This will be achieved via a wide range of collections management and collections care activities as outlined in the job description and principal accountabilities. Supporting access to the collections may also include working on displays, digitisation and public engagement initiatives. The museum service employs a large number of volunteers and the post-holder will be expected to help supervise volunteers as required.

Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency's Points-based Immigration System.
