About the role
The role sits within the Contract and Supplier Management Team. This team uses contract and market expertise to develop strategies across our four main pillars of expertise, Contract Management, Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Market Development & Supply Chain Management which in turn support our Council's strategic objectives.
We require an individual who is able to operate at both a strategic and operational levels, with a good knowledge of contract management, supplier management and project management.
The successful candidate will support the Contracts and Supply team in Orbis Procurement, to work collaboratively within procurement and service areas to improve the contract and supplier management practices across the Councils.
Key ingredients of the role will include:-
- Roll out and continuous development of the Contract Management Framework
- Support the team to deliver strategic contract analysis and Value for Money workshops
- Conduct commercial reviews of our most complex contracts
- Provide advice and Guidance to Contract Management community
- Drive the standardisation of approach to contract management
- Ensure benefits are being realised through the contract life
- Support the SRM activities across multiple contracts and directorates
- Develop and actively invest in a wide range of relationships across different sectors to keep abreast of developments that will aid future strategy formation.
We require someone who has the ability to work with a diverse range of individuals and is focused on their customers. They require great communication skills, good stakeholder management, strong project management skills and great impact with a focus on delivery.
As a member of a partnership team, this role is tasked with supporting work across all partners within Orbis. For this reason, the remuneration details vary depending on the employing body as set out below:
- Brighton & Hove City Council - £32,029 - £34,788 (pro rata if part time)
- East Sussex County Council - £32,258 - £34,844 (pro rata if part time)
- Surrey County Council - £39,438 - £43,744 (pro rata if part time)
Additional information
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.
