About the role

Varndean School is a co-education state maintained comprehensive school for 11-16 year olds offering a modern and diverse curriculum. We give students the opportunity to explore their interests, achieve academic success and develop well-rounded characters to go forth into the world and make a valuable contribution to all our futures.

We are now very interested to hear from graduates with the desire to work in this field who are interested in the following apprenticeship programmes to enable them to attain qualified teacher status (QTS) at Varndean High School.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

In order to apply for an apprenticeship at Brighton & Hove City Council, you must have been ordinarily resident in the EEA for at least the previous three years on the first day of the apprenticeship (but if a non-citizen of the EEA then this must not have been for educational purposes) or have some other residency eligibility status – See Annex A – apprenticeship Funding Rules. If you are resident through a visa, leave to remain or other means please confirm type and that any expiry date covers the duration of the apprenticeship once it is due to start.
