You'll be working with teams delivering support to people to meet their care needs and enhance their sense of well-being in the knowledge that you are contributing to keeping key services running safely and efficiently. You will receive support and supervision as part of your work, and have the option of working in varied settings.

The hourly salary is £9.74

Closing date: 30 April 2020 (there will be further opportunities to apply after this date)

Interview date: TBC

About the role

We aim to provide empowering care which supports service users to live fulfilling lives, maintaining / regaining life skills and independence. We are looking for people who are motivated to support service users in this way and who are comfortable supporting people with personal care, and have good communication skills to build positive relationships with service users, their families and other professionals.

If you enjoy helping people and want to make a difference to their lives, and you feel you have the skills required, we would very much like to hear from you.

We welcome applications from those with no prior experience in social care.  Working as a Care Crew worker gives flexibility to work around you daily life. Shifts include earlies, lates, weekends and nights.

As part of the application process you will be asked to complete the answers to six questions, called branching questions. We highly recommend you read the Maximise your Chances document below which will explain the best way to answer the questions. Not following this guidance is likely to reduce your chances of success.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

Company information

Please note that this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, and is subject to a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage applicants from a BME or White Other background as well as those who identify as disabled, male or trans as these groups are currently under-represented in our Directorate workforce.

As part of Brighton & Hove City Council's ongoing commitment to redeployment, please note that this vacancy may be withdrawn at any stage of the recruitment process, without prior notice if a suitable redeployee (internal employee at risk of redundancy) is identified.
