Job introduction

The Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust (RPMT) is seeking to appoint its first Chief Executive, to manage the Royal Pavilion and Museums in Brighton and Hove.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 8th July and Monday 13th July.

If you would like to have a chat about the role with the Chair of the RPMT, please contact Clare Bailey, HR Business Partner - clare@pavilionfoundation.org in the first instance.

About the role

This is an exciting time at The Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust (RPMT). As our first Chief Executive, this is a unique opportunity for you to lead the transformation from a council-run museum service to create a new vibrant, entrepreneurial, independent, and sustainable charity, which has diversity and excellence at its heart and which offers visitors a world-class experience.

The CEO is a Trust appointment and the post holder will be working with an excellent team and committed Board, with strong partnerships in place and guaranteed funding and support from Arts Council England and Brighton & Hove City Council.

Please read the attached job pack for more information on this exciting opportunity.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.

Company information

Following advice from the UK government on managing Coronavirus (Covid-19) all of our museums are temporarily closed until further notice. The RPMT is closely monitoring the situation and looks forward to welcoming visitors again as soon as advice allows.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community but particularly encourage applicants from a BME or White Other background as well as those who identify as disabled, LGB, female or trans as these groups are currently under-represented in our workforce.
