About the role

Balfour Primary School requires an enthusiastic, committed and qualified Teaching Assistant working  specifically with vulnerable/ pupils with SEND.  The Teaching Assistants are a busy and productive team within the School who support our enthusiastic students as well as our vibrant teams of teaching staff. In addition, the successful post holder will perform MDSA duties. Please see the job descriptions for further information about the roles.

Balfour Primary School is a thriving and vibrant school at the heart of the Surrenden Campus serving the Preston Park, Fiveways and Hollingbury communities.  Our school is a four form-entry primary school with nearly 800 pupils on roll.    We are very proud of:

Hours: The post holder will be expected to work term time only, Monday - Friday 8:45am - 3:30pm  

Salary:

• Teaching Assistant:  The starting salary is NJC Scale 3.  (£18,795 – £19,171pa) The post is term-time only, 24.75 hours a week, so the actual starting salary is £10,890 per annum.

• MDSA: NJC Scale 1/2. (£17,364 – £18,426pa) The post is term-time only,  6.25 hours per week, so the actual starting salary is £2,459 per annum.

Therefore, the combined actual salary is £13,349pa

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
