These trails invite you to explore public artworks in and around Brighton & Hove.

Public Art Trail 1 - Brighton Town Centre
This trail would suit walkers. It begins at Brighton Train Station and takes approximately 1 hour.

Write Around Air Street
From Brighton Station head south on Queen's Road towards the sea.
Take a slight right before the Clocktower where you will find Write Around Air Street.
Write Around Air Street is an installation of poems on the theme of air that is incorporated into the street furniture.
Twins
At the end of Air Street cross the road at Queen Square.
Cross over Dyke Road.
Cross again at the traffic lights on Western Road.
Turn right and walk past the buses on to Churchill Square where you will find Twins.
Avalon Gate
From 'Twins' walk east, back along Western Road towards the clock tower.
Turn right onto West Street.
Cross the road at the traffic lights, following the road south towards the sea.
'Avalon Gate' is on the left. It is a huge metal gate at the entrance to the Avalon development.
The Cones
From the 'Avalon Gate' if you look south you can see 'The Cones'.
They are three brightly coloured light sculptures on the central reservation, at the bottom of West Street.
Passacaglia
From 'The Cones' cross over King's Road and turn left to walk down the ramp onto the Seafront.
Passacaglia is situated on the beach. It is a large recycled iron sculpture.
Afloat
From 'Passacaglia' follow the seafront path east and turn right on to the groyne.
You will see Afloat at the end. It is a huge circular, bronze sculpture that sits on a plinth.
Kiss Wall
Turn and walk straight back along the groyne.
Carry on to the top promenade. There you will find 'Kiss Wall'.
Black Lion Street Railings
From Kiss Wall cross at the traffic lights, turn left and walk along Kings Road.
Turn right after the Jurys In Waterfront hotel on to Black Lion Street.
There you will find the blue sculptural Black Lion Street Railings.
Drift
From Black Lion Street Railings continue north.
Cross over to Prince Albert Street.
Walk along Meeting House Lane.
Follow the lane straight, round to the left and continue straight to the exit on North Street.
Cross at the traffic lights, turn right and walk down North Street.
Turn left on to New Road where you will find Drift.
Library Artworks
From 'Drift' continue along New Road
Cross over Church Street on to Jubilee Street.

New England Quarter Artworks
From Jubilee Library Artworks continue along Jubilee Street to North Road.
Turn left, cross and turn right on to Kensington Street.
Continue along Sydney Street.
Turn left at Trafalgar Street.
Cross over and turn right again on to Whitecross Street.
At the end of Whitecross Street you will find:
- New England Street
- Cheapside
- New England Quarter Artworks
Urban Art Wall
The Urban Art Wall runs along the north-west side of New England Quarter.
Starting on Blackman Street, along Cheapside and on to Fleet Street, which leads up to the back of Brighton Train Station.
