Remembrance events across the city
A number of remembrance services are being held across the city attended by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Councillor Dee Simson, or her representatives.
11am, Thursday 8 November
Blessing in the Garden of Remembrance War Memorial, Old Steine, Brighton.
A short service will be held at the War Memorial in the Old Steine, Brighton at 11am, please assemble by 10.45am.
6.30pm, Friday 9 November
100 Years One “We Will Remember Them” – to include the Children’s Act of Remembrance at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Ann Street Brighton.
A service will be held from 6.30pm – 8pm. Please assemble by 6.20pm
6am, Sunday 11 November
Brighton & Hove City Council’s & Battles Over – A Nation’s Tribute – ‘Battle’s Over’ Commemorative Piper at 6am at St Nicholas Church, Brighton, BN1 3LJ
9am, Sunday 11 November
The Royal Sussex Regimental Association Remembrance Service at The Royal Sussex Regiment Memorial, Regency Square, Brighton.
A short service will be held at 9am, please assemble by 8.55am
10.45am, Sunday 11 November
Portslade Remembrance - Easthill Park Memorial, Manor Road, BN41 2FA
A wreath laying ceremony will take place at 11.00 am at the Easthill Park Memorial. Please assemble by 10.45am. To be followed by refreshments in St Nicholas Church Hall.
11am, Sunday 11 November
Brighton Remembrance Service - War Memorial, Old Steine, Brighton.
A parade will depart from Madeira Drive towards the Old Steine War Memorial for a Service and Wreath Laying Ceremony beginning at 11am, please assemble by 10.50am. The parade will fall in at 10.30am along the western part of Madeira Drive (in front of the Sea Life Centre) and will march off at 10.40am to the west side of the War Memorial for the Two Minutes’ Silence, Service and the laying of wreaths.
11am, Sunday 11 November
Hove Cemetery, Old Shoreham Road (North Gate Memorial followed by South Gate Memorial)
A short wreath-laying ceremony will take place first at the North Gate Memorial at 11am, followed by the same ceremony at the South Gate Memorial.
2.30pm, Sunday 11 November
Hove Remembrance Service - War Memorial, Grand Avenue, Hove and All Saints Church, The Drive, Hove
A service and wreath-laying ceremony is being held at the War Memorial, Grand Avenue, Hove, at 2.30pm. Please assemble by 2.25pm. From there, the parade will process to All Saints Church for a full Service of Remembrance from 3pm.

Brighton & Hove Branch of the Association of Jewish Ex-Servicemen & Women’s Service at the Brighton & Hove Reform Synagogue, Palmeira Avenue, Hove.
