Community Roots mental health support network launches
Across Brighton & Hove there is a range of mental health support available, but it can be difficult to find out which ones are right for you.
Launching on World Mental Health Day (10 October), Community Roots brings together 16 local services that are committed to supporting good mental health and wellbeing in Brighton & Hove. Alongside a range of prevention, wellbeing and recovery support, there's now a single freephone number you can call to navigate and access these services.
Councillor Clare Moonan, Chair of Brighton & Hove City Council’s Health and Wellbeing Board, says: “Mental health knows no boundaries; people across the city and in all walks of life can be affected. This new partnership will mean more support is available for people when and where they need it. We’re really looking forward to working with the partnership and linking services to promote mental wellbeing for all.”
If you need support, or know somebody that does
- call 0808 196 1768 (freephone, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm)
- visit www.communityroots.org.uk
- follow Community Roots on Facebook @bhcommunityroots and Twitter @bh_roots
The freephone number is operated by a team of Community Navigators who understand that taking that first step to contact support for your mental health can be hard. After talking through how you are feeling and the type of support that could meet your needs, they can provide professional advice and also contact services on your behalf.
