Outcome of extraordinary council meeting

At an extraordinary meeting this evening Brighton & Hove City Councillors voted to approve the appointment of Cllr Tracey Hill to the position of Chair of Housing & New Homes Committee and as a Board member of Homes for Brighton and Hove - a joint venture partnership with Hyde Housing delivering much needed affordable homes in the city.

Cllr Nancy Platts was also appointed as Chair of the Procurement Advisory Board.

Councillors voted to make no other changes to special responsibility roles including the Leader, Deputy Leader, Chairs of Committees and Lead Member roles.

The size and revised allocation of committee seats was agreed to reflect the relative size of the four political groups.

Individual appointment to committees will follow notification from the groups.

Councillor Anne Meadows announced that she is leaving the Labour Group and joining the Conservative Group. Councillor Warren Morgan also announced he is leaving the Labour Group.
