There are three confirmed cases of 2019 Novel Coronavirus the UK. The latest updates are available on the government website.
Media reports today are linking the third case to Brighton & Hove. This has not yet been confirmed by Public Health England. The Chief Medical Officer for England is responsible for issuing geographical information about cases of Coronavirus. Until he decides to share any details about the latest case, there is no official confirmation to say where the individual is from.
We are working closely with Public Health England and Brighton & Hove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). We will be sharing their advice and will provide more information as soon as possible.
Typical symptoms of coronavirus include fever and a cough that may progress to a severe pneumonia causing shortness of breath and breathing difficulties.
