New drug and alcohol support service

Adults can now get advice and support about alcohol or drug misuse from the Brighton & Hove Recovery Service. They also offer support to families and carers of those struggling with alcohol or drug misuse. 

The service will include:

  • Advice on keeping safe
  • Access to substitute medication
  • Community detox
  • Referrals to residential detox and residential rehab
  • Emotional support and counselling
  • Access to community groups like Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous
  • Housing support
  • Education, training and employment advice
  • Community outreach 
  • Health promotion 

If you're already attending a service in the area, they are working with current staff and GPs, pharmacies and hospitals to ensure your treatment isn't disrupted.

Changes to the service due to COVID-19

While the new service will be in place from 1 April, face-to-face services will not be in place until restrictions on social distancing are lifted.

Appointments and support will be provided on the phone or by their online team.

The Brighton & Hove Recovery Service is provided by Change Grow Live.

They have been commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council to provide recovery-focused drug and alcohol support services in the city. Provision was previously provided by Pavilions Drug & Alcohol Service.
