New toilets for Dyke Road Park
Work begins on Monday 24 February to refurbish the public loos facilities and provide the park with a wheelchair accessible toilet in Dyke Road Park.
The redesigned toilets will include three gender-neutral cubicles alongside the wheelchair accessible toilet.
Refurbishment work is expected to take around four weeks to complete, with the new facilities open ready for the spring.
Converting the female toilets
The new design will involve converting the current female toilets by the Dyke Road Park Café.
Alternative female toilets are available at the Booth Museum across the road while the work takes place.
The male toilets will remain open until the new facilities are complete. They will then be converted into extra space for the café.
Access to the new toilets for all users of the park will be through the café.
As well as providing an accessible toilet, we will be upgrading the current facilities, which are very much in need of updating.
The refurbishment will also help reduce the increasing amount of misuse and vandalism in the facilities.
