You can recycle real or artificial Christmas trees at our Household Waste Recycling Sites.
Real Christmas trees can be chopped up and recycled in your garden waste if you've signed up to our paid-for collection service.
Do not leave trees on the pavement, road or beside a communal bin. This is fly-tipping and you could be fined.
You can arrange for your Christmas tree to picked up straight from your home.
Off the Fence, supported by Just Helping, can collect your Christmas tree for a charitable contribution. The suggested donation is based on the size of your Christmas tree with a minimum donation of £10.
The trees are collected and taken to a farm in Ditchling for chipping and recycling.
Registration closes by Tuesday 9 January 2024 and collections take place on 15 and 16 January 2024.

Real trees can also be left at any of our 22 Christmas tree recycling points across the city. A full list is below.
Before leaving your tree, remove it from its pot and make sure you've taken off any decorations.
Every real tree is turned into soil improver or compost. You can buy this soil improver from our recycling centres.
Our Christmas tree recycling points will be open from Wednesday 27 December 2023 until Monday 22 January 2024.

The recycling point in St Ann's Well Gardens has moved to the Furze Hill entrance of the park. If you leave a tree at the old site within the park, we will treat it as fly-tipping and you could be fined.
